It’s here, the end of the holiday season! The end of the Year is near! Despite the incredible year you may have had, we here at L&P want to remind all of you that there are still so many things to be thankful for. Robert Emmons, a psychology professor at the University of California, Davis told the New York Times that, “grateful people feel more alert, alive, interested, enthusiastic. They also feel more connected to others.” Emmons has been studying gratitude for years and has found some interesting data during his research.
Giving his controlled group the simple task of keeping a grateful journal for the course of two months, Emmons learned that quality of life and happiness had significantly increased. The people that kept a grateful journal reported health benefits as well as psychological benefits. For us here at L&P, that’s enough to get us started on our own grateful journal!
Robert Emmons is also the author of two books on Gratitude.
In the spirit of the holidays, we invite you to join us and take a moment to be grateful. We invite you to look at the day with fresh eyes and measure your moments through gratitude and love. Take a look at the energy around you. Every one seems to be conspiring to come together. To give each other love either through food or gifts or kind words. There are so few times in the year where the entire world seems to conspire to connect, to give, to love.
Why not take this most incredible time year and celebrate all that you have?
