5 ways to perk up your skin

1.       Use a Face Masque

One of the best ways to keep your skin looking fresh is to use a masque every 2 days. The important thing here is consistency! If you can maintain   a skin care regime that allows you to masque before your shower you’ll be sure to notice a huge difference in how your skin looks and feels.   A masque is a easy quick fix to moisturize, deep clense   and/or treat the skin. You can make your own masques or go to your favorite beauty store to find one you like. Two of my favorite masque’s are made by Eminence, an all natural skin care line from Hungary. I use the Pear and Green Apple   Masque to nourish and tone the skin. The high concentration of   anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients keep my skin glowing all day.   The other favorite is the Pink Grapefuit Vitality Masque. Again, this is a wonderful masque to nourish the skin, stimulate, clear the skin of impurities while firming and tightening pores.

2.       Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize! When I say Moisturize, I don’t mean use sparingly. I mean lather on the body cream or oil so you’re body feels ask if it’s just come out of a spa treatment. Massage the cream deep into your skin and watch how the dryness disappears. A great Body lotion for relieving dry skin is La Mer’s “ The Body Lotion”. Its light enough on the skin so it feels like you’re not wearing any product but rich enough that it penetrates into skin , leaving it soft to touch.

3.       Hydrating Mist. I discovered   the benefits of Hydrating Mist from a Make up Artist who used it to set makeup. Specifically she used Shu Uemura   Depsea Water Facial Mist. She said she it had multiple uses for her, she used it to clean all her brushes and as a way to keep skin looking young and dewy. Now who doesn’t want a young and dewy complexion?   After learning more about the Depsea Water Facial Mist, I started using it right before I put on my daily moisturizer to lock in moisture. Depsea water is only found in 3 places in the world and is packed with minerals that are great for your skin. Its great for a pick me up throughout the day or a sprtiz before or after makeup.

4.       Wear Sunscreen every day!!!!! To keep skin looking great as you age, Sunscreen is a must and not just any sunscreen will do. Look for sunscreen with physical blocker (titanium dioxide or zinc oxide), these days you can get great sunscreens that feel light and look natural.   Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry Touch SPF55 is a great blocker that absorbs quickly and leaves a nice healthy shine.   My favorite is by Obagi which has a physical UV block of 35. It feels light on my face and I can mix it with a little foundation to get a light coverage that will last me most of the day if I am having a wear little make-up lounge about day.

5.       Cleaning and Toning In addition to everything you put on your face how you cleanse your face is even more important. Firstly you want a cleanser that is not packed with too many chemicals that will strip your skin of moisture. Secondly, you want something that leaves your face clean. I have tried many many cleansers and the one I always come back to is Aveda Botanical Kinetics Purifying Gel Cleanser. This plant based cleanser removes dirt and makeup effectively and leaves the skin feeling refreshed. I like that its gel based so it doesn’t leave a residual cream like substance on my skin. Not only would I recommend this cleanser highly but I would also recommend cleaning your face every night before you sleep.

Until next time.xxx
