Fab Stationery

In this digital age there’s still nothing quite like receiving a card or letter on very fine stationery. When someone takes the time to write a personal note and drop it in the mail it feels very personal and conveys a thoughtfulness that just isn’t delivered with an email.

Here are a few of our favorite designers and purveyors of stationery products.

Online Finds

Owned by friend of L&P and “Mom-trepreneur” Dana Ehrlich, Groovy Paper features a wide array of hip stationery products by different designers. Recently, I've also noticed a lot of cute holiday cards and birth announcements from TinyPrints.com.

From Handbags to Notecards

Known more for their pocketbooks, designers such as Kate Spade and Vera Bradley are now bringing their signature styles to stationery. Vera Wang, favored by many celebrities for her couture wedding dresses, is also getting into the paper biz.

Do-it-Yourself and Custom-Made

If you really want to go the extra mile then consider making your own stationery. Craft stores and websites are filled with high quality, beautiful crafting paper. Some of it is even eco-friendly. If you’re not that crafty, but like the idea of handmade cards or invitations try Etsy.com or, perhaps, a craft fair.

There’s something almost sensual about the feel of finely crafted paper. Giving someone a note on high end stationery is pleasurable, not only for the recipient, but also for the sender. Before long the holidays will be upon us, so it’s not to soon to think about how you might make your holiday correspondence unique and extra special this year.
