Fashion: The Best Of 2012

As the year draws to a close, it's time to look back on the best and worst fashion trends of 2012.

THE BEST

It's safe to say that any of the trends shown below still hold a place in your closet and will make as much sense in 2013 as they did in 2012

1. Peplums
Weather they are in the form of a top, dress, or skirt this is a classic look that works well on most body types. 2012 saw a ton of peplum skirts and dresses so for 2013, try peplum tops for a change. If you are looking for a dress or skirt, try an updated silhouette like what is shown below.

2. Leather-Sleeved Jackets
Leather added a great update to outerwear this year weather it was dressy or casual. Hang onto this trend for 2013 for a unique look when you step outdoors.

3. Luxe Sweatshirts
What could be better than a fancy sweatshirt? 2012 saw a reinvention of the sweatshirt and they're not just for the gym anymore. Try any of the styles below with a skirt or a pair of black pants for a fashion forward look.

4. Soft Pants

Another comfortable trend from 2012 that I can get behind is soft trousers. After squeezing into pair after pair of skinny pants, easy fitting trousers in silky fabrics are a welcome change. The only uncomfortable aspect of these pants is that they look best when worn with heels. Otherwise you might look like you were caught in public in your pajamas.

5. Embellishments
2012 was the year of embellishments and it is certainly a trend that can continue into 2013. As with most trends, be sure not to overdo it with the glitz. Pink one piece and keep the rest simple.
