Can Your Body Change Your Mind?

Every morning, I take a moment to connect with a work of   inspiration - be it a book, video or podcast. I began this daily ritual nearly three   months ago when I started listening to Fareed Zakaria    podcasts because I really didn't have the time to watch his show on Sundays. My weekly dosage of Fareed was a turning point of inspiration, I loved reading the newspaper with my coffee (only the Financial Times - sorry I like a global viewpoint), but let's be honest, newspapers are not inspirational - are they? What if I stopped reading the paper and picked up my favorite poem, book or video? Would my day be different?   This was an experiment I wanted to try.

Yesterday, I decided I would start on Ted Talks I have been meaning to connect with. I listened to a Ted Talk podcast by social psychologist Amy Cuddy. What she said was a direct hit to my heart and spirit. As women, we often feel like we are not enough or don't know enough. Amy teaches us that physiology changes psychology. "Power posing"---- "standing in a posture of confidence, even when we don’t feel confident -- can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain, and might even have an impact on our chances for success." I encourage you to watch this. It's a heartfelt story from a very intelligent strong woman who continues to inspire me.

If there is one thing you change today about your day - do with something that will inspire you. Read a poem, or a page in a book you've been trying to finish, or this video below. I promise you...it will make you feel the beauty of life and love...
