Morning Joe: Big Companies Recognizing The Need For Women In STEM

I recently wrote an article for Silicon Prairie News about STEM internships for high school students. Nearly everyone I spoke with mentioned the importance of increasing the participation of women in technology-related careers.   Big companies and start-ups alike are recognizing that they could meet their recruiting needs more easily if our country was producing more female scientists, engineers and mathematicians.

Editor-in-Chief of Elle, Robbie Myers appeared in a  recent segment of "Morning Joe"  to talk about some of the leading women in tech. The panel also discussed the growing movement around increasing women's participation in STEM.

I suspect that most of this will be nothing new to our readers, but I think this segment is a good indication that mainstream news outlets and the public at large see the urgency of increasing women's presence in the tech industry.
