US. Rover Curiosity Lands On Mars

Aug. 5, 2012 -- Monday morning at 1:31 a.m. EDT, NASA's Mars Science Laboratory 'Curiosity'  ┬álanded on  ┬áred planet's surface. After completing a dramatic entry, decent and landing (EDL) -- nicknamed the "7 minutes of terror" -- mission scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) near Pasadena, Calif., are expecting to get word from the sophisticated rover. However, it's not currently known exactly what time we'll hear back from Curiosity.
